Eligibility
1. Can I participate?
To participate in StartUp, you must be a current SCAD student. Yup! Even Atlanta and eLearning students can join this year. All undergraduate and graduate students are invited to join the party. Any year, any major.
2. Is this event for me?
Yes it is! Any SCAD student, in any major can participate. Leave your resume at home, we know you’ve got skill.
3. How much does it cost to enter?
It’s completely FREE.
During the Event
1. What if I forgot to RSVP before Kickoff?
There’s still a chance! If you didn’t get a chance to register your team before kickoff, email Sara Williams (sew0827@gmail.com) with all of your team member’s names, majors, years, and SCAD emails.
2. What do I need to have before Kickoff?
Don’t panic! All you need is an internet connection, your team, and an attitude for success. We’ll also be emailing all of the links out and posting them in our Discord! So keep an eye out for those, too.
3. What if I’m crowned champion?
Finalist teams will win cash prizes (amounts will be announced soon). You’ll also receive total bragging rights and other cool stuff. Most importantly, you’ll walk out with something badass to put on your resume & portfolio.
Registration
1. How are teams set up?
Teams of your choice must be 2-5 people, and must represent a minimum of two different majors. Teams cannot exceed 5 students.
2. What if I don’t have a team?
No worries, you don’t need to have a team just yet. We’ll help you find fellow geniuses to work with in our StartUp Discord! Or, if you prefer, register as a single, and we’ll match you with a team!
3. Does my whole team have to sign up?
If you’re all set, only you have to register your team of up to five people (including you!). If you don’t have a team yet, register solo and we’ll match you up before Kickoff!
Event Logistics
1. What do you mean virtual?
Yes! StartUp is going completely virtual this year. We’ll be hosting all of our workshops, announcements, and pitches over everyone’s favorite platform: Zoom.
2. Do I need to make any new accounts?
Nope! Just be sure you’re logged into your SCAD Zoom account, and you check your SCAD email a few times everyday.
